Carolina Blue was at the community center this past Saturday and, as usual, they put on a great show. Nick Chandler joined in for a song playing the mandolin. Parker Breeden, 3-and-a-half, loves bluegrass music and "helps" the bands playing his little fiddle. By the way, it really plays. He is the newest member of the band; the picture shows him on stage and he is looking so serious. Some folks from the Quebec Community Center provided a delicious spaghetti meal. Proceeds from the meal will go toward getting new chairs for the Quebec Community Center, which is a meal site for senior citizens. Some of the audience got up and danced. Dottie Tinsley still can clog. Go Dottie.

Sue Nicholson Stansell turned 100 years old this week on April 10. She will be honored with a drop in at 111 West Shade Lane, Brevard, on Saturday April 13. She has three children, six grandsons, six great-grandsons, eight great-granddaughters, four great-great-granddaughters, two great-great-grandsons, seven nephews and seven nieces, who love her dearly.

The Ornamental Crabapple Tree in my front yard is absolutely beautiful. When the wind blows, it looks like pale pink snow flying through the air. The robins and cardinals keep flying up into the tree. They must be nesting. In the early morning, the birds sing their wake-up songs.

Prayers for anyone in the hospital, recovering from surgery or in nursing facilities. Pray for Ray Smith as he recovers from knee replacement surgery. Remember firefighters, law enforcement, our military, medical professionals and our neighbors.
